Jack-up Rig Move Simulator Training - Marine Operations of Self Elevating Platforms

Seaway Academy provides a very popular Marine Operations Rig Move course at their Training Center in Khon Kaen, Thailand. The course will introduce participants to the theoretical and practical operations for safely moving a Jack-Up unit from one location to another / 4-day course.

Several practical simulations will be carried out throughout the course, enabling the student to experience and practice in real time, issues that can occur during Jacking operations. Demonstrating rig move operations, preloading, jacking, punch throughs, approaching open water locations and alongside fixed jackets, etc.

Target Audience: Assistant and Senior Barge Supervisors / Barge Captains / Barge Engineers, Offshore Consultants, and Jack-up rig operators (management).

The course is taught by Captain Chris Baker. Chris is a Certified Master Mariner having worked as Master/OIM on drill ships and semi-submersible oil rigs, as well as on AHTS throughout the World. Oil Rig experience also includes working as Barge Master on Jack up rigs and as an Independent Rig Mover and Marine Warranty Surveyor; having completed hundreds of rig moves on behalf of Ensco, Northern Offshore, Seadrill, Shelf Drilling, and other Oil and Gas Majors.
